Brief Intro: Wuhan Tianhe International Airport was built in 1990 and put into service in April, 1995. It covers a total area of 240, 000 sq m (59 acres), including a terminal building of 28,450 sq m (7 acres) which is capable of serving 4,200,000 passengers every year. Equipped with updated communication-navigation systems, the airport is able to handle a full-loaded B747-400 and available for 27 parking spaces. It is presently connected to over 60 domestic and international cities by 57 air routes.

International and Domestic Flights
There are more than 150 domestic and international lines connecting Wuhan with over sixty metropolises inside China and abroad. Currently Wuhan has five direct international lines to Osaka, Fukuoka, Seoul, Bangkok, and Singapore. Another line sponsored by China Southern Airlines is from Wuhan to Guangzhou and on to Paris.

A 20-kilometer speedway drive from the Tian He International Airport (WUH) to the city center takes only twenty minutes. Airport shuttle buses leave for the city following flight arrivals. From the airport to Hankou, the bus will charge 15 yuan per person, 20 for Hanyang, and 30 for Wuchang; a taxi drive to the city area is about 80-120 yuan.

Luxury buses leave for the airport from Jin Jia Dun Distance Bus Passenger Station (opposite Hankou Railway Station) every hour. Airport buses and taxis are also available outside the Arrival Hall in the Waiting Building at the airport.

Trains Stations in Wuhan
The Yangtze Rive divides Wuhan into two parts, Hankou and Hanyang on the western bank, and Wuchang on the eastern, called Three Towns of Wuhan. There are two passenger stations in the city, one in the town of Wuchang and the other in Hankou. The passenger station in Wuchang, Wuchang Railway Station" (WRS), is located south of the town center, while the biggest station in Hankou, "Hankou Railway Station" (HRS) is in the west.
Bus No. 10 and Special Line 561 run between the two stations. Make sure you go to the right station and confirm this at the ticket counter before you book tickets.

With the rapid development of road construction, China's highway mileage is second in the world with a total of over 30,000 kilometers (1864 miles). Overland buses are the most important means of transport in many parts of China. By 1999, over 1.35 million kilometers (840,000 miles) highway had been put into use. The national and provincial expressways and highways in Hubei Province connect Wuhan with most provinces and cities in Central and Southern China. Travel from Shanghai to Wuhan by train is 1,200 kilometers (746 miles) and will take about 18 hours and the highway travel is 950 kilometers (590 miles), about 12 hours. The Beijing - Zhujiang Expressway enables travelers to take a 1300-kilometers (808 miles) drive direct to Wuhan from China's capital city.
