Huangshan City is destined to be one of the most visited tourist destinations in the 21st Century. Because of its majestic creation of nature, its more than 2000-year history, and its flourishing Huizhou culture, the city boasts a multitude of tourist attractions. They include the world-famous Mt.Huangshan (Yellow Mountain), the well-preserved ancient villages, crystal Lake Taiping and Qiyun Taoist Mountain and so on. Old residences, archways, clan temples, ancient bridges and pagodas are abundant. The history of this street can be traced back about 1,000 years to the
Qiyun is located at the foot of the Yellow Mountains (Huangshan). It is only 60 kilometers away from the scenic areas of the Yellow Mountains.
As a deep water lake, Taiping Lake (Peace Lake) is situated between Mt. Huangshan and Mt. Jiuhua. It extends 80 kilometer from east to west, which is roughly the same distance down the Li River from Guilin to Yangsuo, and covers an area of about 100 square kilometer. In addition to tour yachts, one can also take a black awning boat, a fishing boat or even a bamboo raft to enjoy the lake scene. The lake is clear and tranquil all the year round.
Peaks here are green and water is clear around the year. There are beautiful scenic attractions such as Old Dragon Pool (Laolong Tan), Green Dragon Pool (Qinglong Tan), Black Dragon Pool (Wulong Tan), White Dragon Pool (Bailong Tan) and Emerald Pond.
The name "Anhui" derives from the names of 2 cities in south Anhui, Anqing and Huizhou (now Huangshan). The abbreviation for Anhui is "Wan", because there were historically a State of Wan, a Mount Wan, and a Wan River in the province. Anhui is located in southeast China, on the lower reaches of the Yangtze River.
