1 Pick up travelers from hotel on departure time, and then drive to the Simatai
Great Wall. The simatai section is dramatic testimony to Ming engineering skills
with one section as steep as 85 degrees. Only partially restored, Simatai allows
athletic visitors who climb past the first watchtowers to see the wall in its wild,
crumbling state, less intrepid visitors can take a gondola, Simatai is 110Km
northwest of Beijing.
2 This part of trekking is one of the most beautiful sections of the Great Wall.
Today's hiking enables travelers to encounter as many as 150 watchtowers,
battlements, terraces and turrets of the wall. There are sections of renovated
and original wall with fantastic viewpoints.
3 Have traditional Chinese lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch have a short
visit of Beijing cloisonne arts. Cloisonne is famous traditional enamelware with a
history of over 500 years. Cloisonne is one of the famous arts and crafts of
Beijing. The making of cloisonne requires rather elaborate and complicated.
4 Driving the travelers back to their hotel.
