Day by day itinerary

Day 01 Beijing
Journey to
meet at the airport, transfer to the Hotel*, afternoon Hutong Tour.
A hutong is an ancient city alley or lane that was built during the Yuan (1206-1341), Ming (1368-1628) or Qing (1644-1908) dynasty according to the etiquette systems of the Zhou Dynasty. The lanes expand out from around the center of the city of Beijing, which is the Forbidden City, once the Royal Palace. The Hutongs, the small windy alleyways between the city's main boulevards are delightful. Taking a stroll or rickshaw here, you will experience the more authentic parts of the city and really get a sense of old Beijing.

Day 02 Beijing
At about 09:00 after a hotel breakfast, full day excursion to the
Great Wall - the landmark of China. It is one of the most amazing feats of manmade construction on earth visible from outer space.
After lunch, a drive to the
Ming Tombs along the sacred way with giant marble figures and animals guarding the tomb area for deceased emperors of the Ming Dynasty.
Peking Opera or acrobatic performance will be attended in the evening.
The world - renowned
Great Wall, a symbol of ancient Chinese civilization, has stood grandly in the land of China for more than 2,000 years. Stretching from the coast at Bohai Bay in the east and terminating at Jiayu Pass in the west, it serpentines among lofty mountains for 12,700 li, or 6,350 kilometers, hence its Chinese name Wanlichangcheng (ten-thousand-li-long-wall)
A visit to The Commune by the Great Wall seems a best choice for the guests for this morning. The project has won international recognitions. You will be led to the wild Great Wall just behind the Commune after your visit in the Commune. The wild Great Wall tour should be a surprise for you because it is supposed to be the only non-commercial and least crowded section of the Great Wall around Beijing.
The Commune by the Great Wall is a private collection of contemporary architecture designed by 12 outstanding Asian architects. It was exhibited at La Biennale di Venezia in 2002 winning a special prize. Ms Zhang Xin, the mastermind and investor for the project, was recognized for her "bold personal initiative, which emphasizes the role of 12 Asian architects in building privately-owned houses in a definitively contemporary manner." The Center Pompidou, Paris now houses the exhibited model, made of wood and cardboard, as its first permanent collection from China.

Fujian cuisine
Fujian cuisine is noted for its light touch, sweet and sour flavor. The cooking puts great attention in choosing the choicest ingredients, and is thus particularly apt in preparing seafood dishes. The dishes mostly marinated in wine, are souring sweet, specialize in all kinds of seafood, stir-fired, quick-fried and shallow oil-fried; simmered, with stress on flavor soup.

Day 03 Beijing
Full day tour to
Tian'anmen Square, the largest public square in the world, and the Palace Museum, known as the Forbidden City; the complex of imperial palaces are home to the emperors for over 500 years in the Ming and Qing dynasties. Some of the grand halls have been used as museums for fine collections of Chinese treasures. The Temple of Heaven, where the Ming and Qing emperors prayed for good harvest, is the largest temple complex remaining in China today. And the Summer Palace a former summer resort for the royal family. The area became known as the Summer Palace because the entire court of Qing Dynasty stayed there in the summer to avoid the Beijing heat. The palaces and other structures eventually fell into ruins due to neglect. In 1888, Empress Dowager Ci Xi (or Tzu His) had it rebuilt with large sums of money earmarked for expanding the Chinese navy which gives the marble boat constructed during her reign, now sitting on the edge of the lake, certain ironic significance. The Summer Palace was seriously damaged once again during the Boxer Rebellion in 1900 and was restored in 1903. Three-quarters of the 660 acres that make up the area is occupied by Lake Kunming, with the remaining quarter occupied by Longevity Hill and the foreshores.
Anhui cuisine
Anhui cuisine follows strict rules in the use of heat and salt; stewed in brown sauce with stress on heavy oil and sauce.

Day 04 Beijing -Shanghai
Take a morning flight to

Day 05  Shanghai
Full day sightseeing includes
Nanjing Road, the bustling shopping district, and the Jade Buddha Temple, known for its large Buddha carved from a single piece of white jade.
The 5.5-km long Nanjing Road is the most bustling and prosperous street, which was first built in 1851.Here, one will find hundreds of modernised malls, famous old-brand stores and special product shops. It has become the largest collecting and distributing centre of retail goods and an information centre. The every-day visitors flowing here reach over a million person/times.It is known as the "China's No 1 Shopping Street".
Built in 1881, the Jade Buddha Temple is located at eh intersection of Anyuan road and Jiangning Road. It is called Jade Buddha because it contains two Buddha statues carved out of white jade. Rebuilt in 1918, the temple consists of the Amitabha Hall (Mituodian), the Grand Hall (Daxiongbaodian), the Hall of Three Sages (Sanshengdian), and the Jade Buddha Tower (Yufolou). The last-mentioned is located in a courtyard, and visitors must exchange their street shoes for a pair of clean slippers before entry is allowed. Inside the central alcove is a sitting statue of the Jade Buddha, 1.9 meters in height, radiant, and solemn. In the story below is the recumbent Buddha, carved out of white jade; lying on a wooden couch and supporting his head with one hand, he keeps his eyes open and looks serene. According to legends, both statues were shipped to Shanghai from Burma by the monks of Mount Putuo.
Shandong cuisine
Shandong food consists of Jinan and Fushan food. Jinan food makes good use of soup seasoning, frying in deep oil and steaming. Shandong roast chicken is especially good with wine and the chicken is and tender. Tasting it is guaranteed to make the diner believe. Shandong cuisine is known for its light seasoning, qualities of freshness, clear colors and delicate fragrance and pure tastes.

Day 06  Shanghai- Suzhou
An excursion to
Suzhou by an express train. You will visit the classical gardens of Humble Administrator, the Garden Fishermen, the Tiger Hill and the Embroidery Institute.
The Chinese consider gardens a serious art form and as with painting, sculpture and poetry aim to attain in their design the balance, harmony, proportion and variety that are considered essential to life. "Dongwu Garden", bearing the hallmark of the world-famous Suzhou classical gardens, is a representative work of the Jiangsu Outdoor Garden Exhibition in the '99 World Horticulture Fair held in Kunming.
Jiangsu cuisine
The origin of Jiangsu cuisine can be traced to pre-Christian times. Jiangsu cuisine specialties are lightly flavored, whether they combine sweet-and-salty tastes. Soya sauce and spices are mild and used sparingly, although the use of rich-flavored broth is extensive.

Day 07 Suzhou- Hangzhou
An excursion to
Hangzhou- the "Paradise on Earth" where sightseeing focuses on the lovely gardens, lakes and landscape island. Boat ride on West Lake; sightseeing excursions to Three Pools Mirroring the Moon and Pagoda of Six Harmonies.

West Lake as a whole. In so far as individual scenes and sights are concerned, the mere mention of the West Lake never fails to call to mind the " Ten Scenes of the West Lake", The "Ten Scenes of the West lake" have pinpointed the charms of the West lake in different places, different seasons and different times of the year. Day 08  Hangzhou
Today's full day excursion takes you visit

Day 09 Hangzhou-Guangzhou
Take morning flight to the capital of
Guangdong Province and the southern China's most dynamic and developed commercial center. City sightseeing features Six Banyan Tree Temple and then see the city's free market.
Situated on Liurong Street in Guangzhou, it was built in 537. Six banyan trees once grew in its courtyard. The six banyan trees impressed the great poet and calligrapher Su Dongpo ( 1037--1101 ) of Song dynasty so much that he immediately wrote two characters "Liu Rong" ( six banyan trees ) on the panel board for the temple. In the temple there is a 17-storied, 57.6 m high Flower Tower, the tallest old structure in the city. In addition, there is a corridor where stone tablets are displayed. In the main hall of the temple, there are three giant bronze Buddha Statues built in 1663, each six meters high, weighing 10 tons, the biggest old pieces of bronze in Guangdong Province.
