Day 01 Dunhuang
Arrive at Dunhuang. Be met & transferred to your hotel. Free at leisure for the rest of the time.

Day 02 Dunhuang (B/L)
Visit the

Crescent Moon Spring/Singing Sand Mountains: Mingsha Hill offers the best picture-book desert scenery that travelers are likely to see along the entire length of the Silk Road.  Yueya Spring is near the northern foot of Mingsha Hill in the southern suburbs of Dunhuang City. Day 03 Dunhuang (B/L)
Visit the City Museum, the Western Thousand Buddha Caves, the Song Dynasty Film City, and the White Horse Pagoda.

Dunhuang Museum Located at Yangguan East Road in Dunhuang City, Dunhuang Museum was established in 1979. It was previously the location of an archaeological group of the county culture centre (Dunhuang City was a county as that time). The museum focuses on historic cultural relics. Its construction area is 2400 square meters.

the Western Thousand Buddha Caves The western one thousand Buddhas cave is located on the bluff on the north bank of Dang River, 33 kilometers to the southwest of Dunhuang City. 22 existent caves were built in Northern Wei, Western Wei, Northern Zhou, Sui, Tang, Five Dynasties, and Song Dynasties. They contain 910 square meters of frescos, 53 color statues. As a result of wash by the flow of the river, the bank has collapsed; many caves have only rear half.

the Song Dynasty Film City The Old City of Dunhuang  is also called Dunhuang Film City, resembling Shazhou City of Song Dynasty. A preparation for Sino-Japan's co-filming of Dunhuang, the city was modeled after Shazhou City and the long painting scroll Going Up the River at Qingming Festival. In the city, tourists can still find the imitations of ancient constructions, such as Dunhuang governor's apartment, temples, stores, shops, hotels, restaurants, residential houses and so on. It is another historical interest and filming base in Dunhuang. Over 10 films and TV plays have been produced in the Old City of Dunhuang, which include Dunhuang and Fengshenbang.

the White Horse Pagoda.The White Horse Pagoda was located on the outskirts of Dunhuang city,Taking the advantage of its geographic location it became a major stop on Silk Road.


Day 04 Jiayuguan (B/L)
Drive to Jiayuguan which is 385 kilometers away from Dunhuang.

Day 05 Jiayuguan (B/L)
Visit the Jiayuguan Pass, the Great Wall on the Cliff and the Tombs in Wei and Jin Dynasties(about 1200 years ago).

After breakfast, first visitJiayuguan Pass. It is the first pass at the west end of the Great Wall of China,6 kilometers southwest of the city of Jiayuguan. Along with Juyongguan and Shanhaiguan, it is one of the main three passes along the Great Wall. The pass is trapezoid-shaped with a perimeter of 733 meters and an area of more than 33,500 square meters.

After lunch move on to Suspension Great Wall, 11 kilometers to the downtown Jiayuguan City, the Suspension Great Wall was built during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). It gets its name because there is a 231 meter long section, with an obliquity of 45 degrees, built onto a 150m high ridge. From a distance, it looks like a dragon about to extend its body towards the ground.

Weijin Tomb Located about 15 kilometers northeast of Jiayuguan, Wei-Jin Mural Brick Tomb is a big tomb group with over 1,400 tombs built between the 3rd Century and 5th Century during the Wei and Jin dynasties.


Day 06 Dunhuang (B)
Drive back to Dunhuang.
