Erlongshan Ski Resort

Erlongshan Ski Resort, aka Longzhu (Dragon Pearl) Ski Resort, is located in the Erlongshan Scenic Reserve near the city of Binxian, some 65 kilometers from the capital city, Harbin, Heilongjiang Province. The ski resort covers some 780,000 square meters of forested terrain. "Rolling hills" is a fair description of the terrain surrounding Mount Erlong itself. Erlongshan Ski Resort was the venue for the 2004 International Ski Federation's World Cup of Freestyle Aerials.


Festival celebrations and International Freestyle Skiing competitions- make Erlongshan Ski resort   one of the most popular winter spots in China and around the world. Erlongshan Ski Resort is located in the nationally approved “4-A” Erlong Scenic Reserve in Binxian which is 65 kilometres from Harbin . Erlongshan comprises of two trails for beginners, 6 runs for intermediate and advanced skiers. The child ski ground is the first of its kind in China . The ski resort covers around 780,000 square meters, and is capable of holding 4,000 skiers at the same time. The lift from the resort base to the top offers unique views of undulating countryside. The season starts from November and lasts till March.


    Erlongshan's pristine lake is enclosed by two intermingling mountain ranges. Adjoining is a small island in its hub which brings to mind the image of two pearl-eating dragons of contemporary legend. Verdant and copious pine trees and vast expanses of pure white snow make an ideal setting for skiing in the winter- slender willows and sandy shores make for a superb and scenic summer get away. Because of the Erlongshan resort's constant venture and progress, an increasing number of participatory and hands-on activities have come into sight. The encompassing natural environment with various activities has turned the resort into an ideal destination in winter and year-round.


For skiers' comfort, a safety facility has been set up to make sure that skiers are sound and make a worry free environment. Skier beginners may want to learn a lesson or two to advance their skills. Skiing instructors at the resort guide all ages from beginners to experienced.

How to get there

There is a direct flight from Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) – from the domestic terminal – to Harbin Taiping International Airport (HRB) that takes about 2 hours. From Harbin to the ski resort, you can either take a special bus in Harbin that has several downtown points of pick-up (nearby all the major hotels), where it picks up passengers. You can also rent your own car of course, or engage a taxi. The trip from Harbin to Erlongshan Ski Resort takes roughly an hour.
