Anhui Province, also called “Wan” for short, is located in the southeast of China. The province extends about 570 kilometers from north to south, and 450 kilometers from west to east, covering a total area of 139,600 square kilometers, accounting for 1.45 percent of the country’s land. Anhui has 1,850 townships.

Anhui Province is rich in natural scenic spots and historic places of interests, such as, Mount Huangshan, listed by UNESCO as natural and cultural heritage and ancient folk houses in Xidi and Hongcun villages as cultural heritage; Mount Jiuhua, one of the four Buddhist shines; Mount Qiyun, one of the four Taoist shrines. With YangzhiRiver and HuaiheRiver across Anhui province and with a galaxy of men of letters, Anhui has been famous for its rich and colorful local culture, especially, Hui culture in Southern Anhui and Huaihe culture in Northern Anhui.

Agriculture: Benefiting from the mild climate, Anhui Province is rich with agricultural resources and products, and possesses 64 million mu of farmland, 62 million mu of forest land and 8 million mu of aquatic farm. Many Anhui's agruicultural products are famous both at home and abroad including: grapes, pears, pomegranates, green tea(Huang Shan), black tea (Keemum), crab, bull, Fuyang yellow cow, Dingyuan pig, silver fish (Chaohu lake) and white goose of Luan.

Industry: The major provincial minerals are coal and iron. The coal field extends from Guzhen in the east to Yingshang in the west and from Huainan in the south to Xisoxian in the north. This is a vast area and its reserves come out first in East China.

Keemun tea is a representative of Anhui black tea with excellent quality, that is a precious item in Chinese traditional Congou black tea. Keemun tea is granted the best of “Three High Fragrance Black Tea” in the world depending on its particular Keemun aroma.

The appearance of Keemun black tea is tighten and slimming with golden down on it, presents dark glossy color. After infusion, the liquor is bright red,sending forth honey with flower fragrance.

If the milk put into  Keemun Black Tea, the fragrance will be much richer, shows pink color been called Best of All , and Outstanding of All Teas.

Anhui green tea is the representative tea of high quality among China green teach. The growing area is very broad which is mainly located in Huang Shan Mountainous areacurve, Da Bie Shan Mountainous area and the highland of the south Anhui Province.
Anhui green tea has long been praised in the international tea marketing. It is fine processed and graded distinctively. Huangshan Maofeng, included in the category of green teas and produced in Huangshan City, is the first-class tea in China. During the reign of the Emperor Guang Xu in the Qing Dynasty (1875-1908), the tea began to be produced. Huangshan Maofeng is sub-classified into superfine tea and ordinary tea. The superfine tea is produced in the deep mountains 700 meters above the sea level. The tea has tongue-like shapes, slim and slightly crimps and white tines; it is peak green and ivory, embellishing and smooth. When soaked into hot water, the misty, clear and bright tea has a fragrant smell and a sweet taste.

 Lu'an Guapian is mainly produced in the counties of Lu'an, Jinzhai, and Huoshan, among which the tea produced at Bianfu Dong (Bat Cave) of Mount Qiyun is the most famous. Lu'an Guapian belongs to green teas. The tealeaves are flat and melon-seed-like, the size is symmetrical, the color is peak green and the flavor is fragrant. Lu'an Guapian excels in the elaborate manufacturing techniques: all the procedures of picking, frying and drying are handcrafted. In addition to quenching thirst, the tea can be used as medicine.Lu'an Guapian (melon slice) green tea is considered one of the top 10 teas in China. It originated in the Dahei Mountains of western Anhui in the early Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) and was a tribute tea for the emperor.

Taiping Houkui belongs to the first-class of dried green tea. It is produced in high mountain tea plantations at the areas of Houkeng in ancient Taiping County (Today's Huangshan District of Huangshan City). The tealeaves have straight shapes with two fusiform ends, and the color is olive green. When soaked into hot water, the tealeaves open out like flowers, the tea water is clear and green, the smell is fragrant, and the taste is sweet. It is said that"one will get drunk by the fragrant smell of Houkui even one hundred miles away".

Tunxi Green Tea, also known as Tunlu tea,Tunlv tea- and used to be called as Twankay(Twankey)tea is one kind of quality green teas produced in China. Tunxi tea is being praised as 'Green Gold'. Along with keemun tea which is also produced in the same Huangshan area,they are referred to as 'Qimen red,Tunxi green‘"祁红屯绿”.

With excellent flavor and taste among the same kinds of green tea,Twankay tea (屯绿)became worldwide known around 7th century and has been exported abroad in a large scale since the beginning of 16th century, Twankey tea(屯绿) has been valued in four aspects - green color, clear brew, mellow taste, and long-lasting aftertaste.

Huangshan Gongju tea produced in Anhui Huangshan, rich in Xiuning Lantian, Nantang other places. Huangshan Gongju grown in the unique natural environment, the quality, color, smell, taste, type in one set, both the ornamental value, but also medical functions, known as medicinal and drink in the share, is the Huangshan well-known specialties, famous. Huangshan Tribute Chrysanthemum of the stand, slightly cold. Containing Ju Gan, adenine, choline and vitamin A1, B1, amino acids, potassium, sodium and other ingredients, with Liver eyesight, evil pathogenic fire, cool and relieving effect.

For Huangshan City's residents, drinking tea has become an integral part of their daily lives. Huangshan City's tea culture includes morning, afternoon, and evening tea. A popular saying amongst locals is "one could live without food, but not morning tea". Local residents regard drinking tea in the morning is a staple part of their breakfast. Different from the strong flavor of the afternoon tea, which is considered to be good for promoting digestion, and evening tea, which is good for relieving the fatigue of the whole day, morning tea is usually light, with a fragrant aroma. On winter evenings, drinking tea is a great necessity for Huangshan locals as they drink tea while warming themselves in front of a fire with friends and family. Huangshan residents feel that drinking tea helps a calming effect and promotes artistic imagination. It is possible that there is something to this belief because the best tools used in traditional Chinese paintings are produced in Huangshan.
