Trip Overview This 6 days tour will lead to Dunhuang and Xian, which are two important cities on the Silk Road. It covers Mogao Grottoes one of the three famous rock grottoes and regarded as a storehouse of the Buddhist art in the world, Roaring Mingsha Hill, Yumenguan, Yangguan and the Ancient City Wall, Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses, Big Wild Goose Pagoda in Xian.

Day 1 Dunhuang Xian (Meals: B/L/-)
Sightseeing: The Ancient City Wall / The Provincial Museum
After breakfast, you will be met in the lobby and drive to the airport to take a short flight to Xian. Upon your arrival in Xian, you will be greeted warmly by our guide and visit the Ancient City Wall, Bell Tower and Shaanxi Provincial Museum.
The Ancient City Wall: An extension of the old Tang Dynasty structure boasting the most complete city wall that survives through Chinese long history.
Shaanxi History Museum : One of the main museums in China which holds numerous unearthed cultural relics of China.
Day 2 Xian (Meals: B/L/-)
Sightseeing: Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses / Big Wild Goose Pagoda
In the morning, we visit the most well-known landmark of Xian, Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses and Big Wild Goose Pagoda.
Terracotta Warriors : The greatest archaeological findings of the century: the army of Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses and the bronze chariots entombed in vast underground vaults at emperor Qin s tomb.
Big willd Goose Pagoda : The pagoda where widely renowned Master Xuanzang (Monk Tripitaka) stored his classics brought from India.
Day 3 Dunhuang Xian (Meals: B/L/-)(Meals: B/-/-)
Drum and Bell Towers Square : The emblem of Xian city.
You will be met at the airport in Dunhuang by our Discoverchinatours guide, and driven to your hotel. The rest of the time is free for you to explore the city.
Day 4 Dunhuang (Meals: B/L/-)
Sightseeing: Mogao Grottoes / Folk Culture Museum / Crescent Lake / Roaring Mingsha Hill
Take a full day tour to visit Mogao Grottoes, Folk Culture Museum, Crescent Moon Lake and Roaring Mingsha Hill.
Mogao Grottoes: In China, it is one of the three famous rock grottoes and regarded as a storehouse of the Buddhist art in the world.
Crescent Moon Spring/Singing Sand Mountains: Mingsha Hill offers the best picture-book desert scenery that travelers are likely to see along the entire length of the Silk Road. Yueya Spring is near the northern foot of Mingsha Hill in the southern suburbs of Dunhuang City. It is shaped like a crescent moon, and its clear water is surrounded by grass.
Day 5 Dunhuang (Meals: B/L/-)
After breakfast we will drive across the Gobi desert to visit two important relics on the silk road-Yang Pass and Yumen Pass as well as the best preserved Han great wall and Yadan Landform.
Sightseeing: Yumenguan / Hecang Fortress / Yangguan
You will start the day with a visit to Yumenguan, the Great Wall in Han Dynasty, The Hecang Fortress and Yang Gate.
The Hecang Fortress: hidden in the Gobi Desert twenty kilometers from Yumenguan Pass at the west, was originally the important quartermaster depot.
Yangguan Pass: Yumenguan lies about 80 kilometers (50 miles) northwest of Dunhuang. Its name came from the fact that jade from Hotan in Xinjiang entered Central China through this pass.
Yumenguan Wall: Yangguan lies 75 kilometers (47 miles) southwest of Dunhuang but consists of only the ruins of a high beacon tower. It s named Yangguan because it borders the southern part of Yumenguan Pass.
Day 6 Dunhuang to Next city (Meals: B/-/-)
Feel free at leisure to explore the city until be met and transferred to the airport for the flight to next destination.
